Kay Kristin Boutilier

Kay Kristin Boutilier is a singer-songwriter that goes by the stage name Kay. Her success of her first single, My Name is Kay, has quickly put her on a number of music watch lists in magazines such as the New York Post Blog and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton as well as dubbed the "next pop goddess".
She was born in 1985. Growing up in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Kay spent much of her younger years singing and acting wherever and whenever she could. After graduating from an all girls high school, Holy Angels in Sydney, Nova Scotia, she decided to move further with her music career. She credits youtube as one of the reasons for her success, saying "youtube changed my life as well because it allowed for me to just sing and rap in my living room and put it out there for the world to see ". She also credits her older sister for introducing her to a wide variety of music in her youth which influenced the hip hop inspired pop she sings today. She describes her style as pop infused with hip hop and is influenced by artists such as Nelly Furtado and Missy Elliot.
She is signed to a label in Toronto but works out of Vancouver. She states that while at a casual party, Ryan Tedder of One Republic happened to be attending and took notice which helped her get signed to her label Interscope/Universal.
Her debut album is scheduled to be released this summer. Two singles, My Name is Kay and M.A.J.O.R, have been released at present.
