Kathryn Allen Couture

Kathryn Allen Couture is a luxury handbag company founded in 2012 by Atlanta native Kathryn Allen. The company goes by KAC on second reference.
Allen was inspired to start KAC as a result of her lifelong love for handbags. She received her first handbag from her grandmother at the age of four. She began to rework her grandmother's vintage handbags into her own creations, and this led to her interest in design.
Kathryn Allen Couture is known for using fine selections of exotic skin for their handbags and accessories. Their most popular materials include American alligator, crocodile, lizard, python, caimán and ostrich.
Each KAC handbag is made in a boutique workshop located in California by experienced artisans from all over the world. The thread and interior suede are hand-dyed to match the exterior of the accessory. The hardware for KAC handbags are made in a century-old establishment in Italy.
Allen is known for being a hands-on designer who fuses old-fashioned and modern business methods. Her clients often call her directly when they are ready for a new handbag. Allen is involved with every step of the production process, from selecting the skins to packaging the handbags. She says her clients value being able to speak directly to the designer when so many companies only offer online ordering services.

KAC handbags are currently available by custom order only due to the rarity of the materials used for each handbag.
