MBG Expense Management is a telecom expense management (TEM) solutions provider based in New York City. The company was founded in 1989 under the name MBG Telecom Software and later incorporated as MBG, Inc. In 2006, the company restructured to form MBG Expense Management, LLC. The company was founded by Michael B. Greenspan, who remains as CEO and whose initials are represented in the company name.
MBG delivers its software solutions as a hosted, on-demand platform or as a full business process outsource to Global 1000 enterprises as well as mid-market organizations. The company has achieved SAS 70 Type II certification in 2008. Its solutions are developed on the Microsoft .Net platform and leverages SQL Server as its data repository. The MBG platform provides a unified front-end and data architecture that integrates business processes for provisioning, inventory, invoice bill presentation, invoice processing, chargeback, and business intelligence capabilities that facilitate the management of enterprise voice and data communications. This solution centralizes the management of telecom expenses across large organizations providing total visibility into overall expenses. To consolidate invoices and overall management, the MBG system can accept billing feeds from over 100 telecom vendors and normalizes the data across service providers and service type. The MBG solution also has incorporated eBonding technology that enables clients to order services directly with carriers on-line ordering systems and maintain up-to-date inventories. Currently AT&T and Verizon Business are the two carriers to offer eBonding capabilities. MBG’s professional services include TEM system implementation, integration with existing enterprise software applications (ERP, GL, AP), and historic telecom spend audits. MBG also has a line of services for telecom call accounting. In this instance, MBG compiles call detail records from legacy PBX and IP-based phone networks, and provides a centralized view of a corporations call detail for traffic analysis, usage review and network design planning.
