Kasterborous

The Time Lords home planet of Gallifrey is found in the constellation of Kasterborous according to the British TV sci-fi series Doctor Who. Kasterborous was first referred to in 1973's The Time Warrior (notable for also being the first episode to name the planet of the Time Lords) starring Jon Pertwee as the Doctor. Further references to Kasterborous include Pyramids of Mars (1974), the TV Movie starring Paul McGann (Doctor Who, 1996) and most recently by David Tennant in the 2007 episode "Voyage of the Damned". Some fans suggest that the design on the old-style TARDIS key as used by the Third, Fourth and Eighth Doctors represents the constellation; it is also notable that this representation contains six circles. In Doctor Who lore, the number is sacred (six sides on a TARDIS console, six sides to the Panopticon on Gallifrey, six Chapters to the Time Lord academy (Prydonian, Arcalian, Scendles, Patrex, Cerulean and Dromeian). Kasterborous is also referred to in various Doctor Who spin off media such as in several books (BBC, Virgin) and audio adventures (Big Finish), and the long running comic strip in Doctor Who Magazine.
