Kashiyatra

Kashiyatra, popularly known as KY, is the annual social and cultural festival of the . It is a four-day-long event held towards mid February every year, and attracts a footfall of more than 25,000 students from across India.
Introduction
Kashiyatra, one of North India's largest college cultural festivals is a four-day-long annual event held in mid February every year. It is a student-run non-profit organization which caters primarily to the youth. Kashiyatra has seen the participation of numerous stalwarts in the cultural arena. A number of celebrated names like international mentalist Ehud Segev, classical singers , Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Bismillah Khan, and singers Shubha Mudgal, Shaan, Lucky Ali, Shibani Kashyap and Javed Ali, have performed at Kashiyatra. India's largest quizzing event 'IMS India Quiz' with 5700+ participants is one of the premier events organised in it. In 2006, Miss India Earth 2005 Niharika Singh took part in a fashion show organised as a part of it. Well known rock fest like SUNBURN Goa IIT (BHU) Edition and bands like Parikrama and Indian Ocean too have performed here.

Pronites
* Mirage is an inter-college fashion show competition, which has witnessed the presence of Miss India Nikita Anand and Niharika Singh, along with several other Gladrags models. It is held in the open-air theatre.
* Fusion Nite is a creative amalgamation of classical Western and Indian Music which has witnessed the presence of the Dunes of Rajasthan, Rishi Inc and others.
* Antarnaad is the final night of Kashiyatra which sees famous artists and bands from the Indian film industry such as Lucky Ali, Javed Ali, Indian Ocean, Underground Authority, Parikrama etc.
* Kavi Sammelan is a poetic symposium which has been graced by Kumar Vishwas,
Competitions
* Natraj (The Dance Event): One of the most crowd pulling competitions of Kashiyatra- Natraj, the dance event, is grace and grandeur personified. It comprises solo, duo and group performances by professional dance troupes from colleges nationwide. In addition to these, there are theme based performances which are quite a spectacle as they convey deep ethereal messages.
* Bandish (The Music Event): Bandish, the Indian music event features singing competitions from across the country including contestants from popular reality shows such as "Indian Idol" and "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa". It encompasses solo, duet and group performance of light and classical Indian and Western vocals.
* Abhinay (The Theatre Event): Abhinay, the theatre event showcases budding performers from across the nation breathing life into innovative storylines with their impeccable acting skills.
* Toolika (The Fine Arts Event): Toolika, the fine arts event, is an exhibition of creativity and artistic skills. Sculptures, paintings on canvas, mehendi, tattoo and Rangoli making etc. are few events held under this umbrella.
* Samvaad (The Literary Event): Samvaad, the literary event, hosts the finest speakers of the nation exhibiting their oratorical skills and charming the audience with their wit. In addition to the conventional debates and extempore events, Samvaad also includes JAM, poetry, storytelling, impromptu etc.
* Crosswindz (The Rock Competition): An two-day-long affair, Crosswindz fuses an Inter-College Rock Rock Festival with a Professional Rock Band as the final act. In the past, Crosswindz has seen performances such as Parikrama, Indian Ocean, Orange Street etc.
* Enquizta (The Quiz Event): For all the trivia freaks; Enquizta promises to be one of the best quizzing events in the country.
* FUN-KY (The Informals): Informals is formally, the most happening part of Kashiyatra. Informals have something in store for everyone!

Kashiyatra is a widely publicised and covered college festival in India, receiving extensive coverage by all sectors of media. In electronic media, Kashiyatra is covered by 93.5 Red FM and prominent TV networks like Channel V and UTV Bindass.
Kashiyatra 14 Moments
Kashiyatra ‘ 14 seeking to ‘broadening‘ its ‘boundaries’ saw a plethora of events taking place some of which are as follows-
* International events- Ehud Segev, the world’s greatest Mentaliser from Israel, with some wonderful tricks up his sleeve, gave a show that was nothing short of magical for the audience. Also, the first ever chapter of IIMUN was organized and was met with great fervor from the organizers as well as from the nationwide participants.
* Sunburn-‘AWESOME’ is one word that describes it all. The DJ used his musical spells to make the audience groove to the electronic music.
* Mirage-KY’14 saw a vibrant display of hues and a variance of wardrobe ranging from ethnic to modern. The stage was set dazzling with models participating from various institutes, showcasing what would rank among best works of fashion designers.
* Social events - A large number of participants willing to play a part in improving the society took part in social events such as blood donation camp, initiative towards cleaner Ganga etc. Street plays spreading awareness about social issues also took place.
* Other events-Bhaag Dk Bose singer Keerti Sagathia enthralled the audience with a stunning performance in one of the pronites. One of the largest quiz events of India also took place.
