Karen Fredricks is an IT consultant, author and trainer.
Background
Karen Fredricks began her life rather non-technically growing up in Kenya and attending high school in Beirut, Lebanon. Having traveled all over the world she studied at the University of Florida and has been an ardent Gator fan ever since. In addition to undergraduate studies in English and Accounting, Karen holds a Master’s degree in Psycholinguistics. She has worked with the PC since its inception in the early 1980s and has worked as a full-time consultant and trainer ever since. An expert in the area of CRM and Contact Management, Karen is the author of eleven "For Dummies" books on contact management and CRM software for Wiley Publishing, and has created numerous online training videos on the same subjects for lynda.com.
Karen currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida and includes tennis, weight training, road-biking and cheering for the Gators in her busy schedule.

Tech Benders
In 2002 Fredricks formed Tech Benders, a consulting firm specializing in contact management and CRM software. Tech Benders customizes popular contact management and CRM software including ACT, SugarCRM and Outlook to help business grow by being more organized and efficient, and by building better relationships with both current and prospective clients. In addition, Tech Benders specializing in increasing a companies bottom line through effective management of a sales pipeline and other internal processes.
Roy Laudenslager joined Tech Benders in 2004. Laudenslager has over 35 years of experience in the electronics and data processing industry. He was a member of the ACT! technical support team for 10 years before joining Tech Benders in 2004. Laudenslager has written over 100 articles for ACT! publications including the Easy ACT! newsletter and the ACT! Extra newsletter. He has served as the Technical Editor on three ACT! For Dummies books with Karen Fredricks.
In 2007 Sage Software, the manufacturer of the ACT! contact management software, honored Roy with the ACT! Community Service Award at the their annual conference for his involvement with the ACT! Community. Laudenslager was chosen from over 400 ACT! consultants nationally. Laudenslager, who is located in Eugene, Oregon, has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of ACT! ranging from database installation and customization to maintenance and troubleshooting. He has particular expertise in the creating custom ACT! reports using the ACT! Report Writer. In 2009 he designed and produced over a dozen of the reports for ACT 2010.
Kim Winton joined the staff of Tech Benders in 2007. Prior to joining Tech Benders she worked for Symantec and then Sage Software where she specialized in database repair and recovery. While at Sage she developed the tools needed to repair ACT 6 databases and is currently one of six consultants world-wide authorized by Sage Software to convert and repair ACT databases.
Bibliography
In 2002 Karen was contacted by Wiley Publishing to write ACT! 6 for Dummies because of her expertise in the ACT! software program. After successfully completing the title she went on to write another ten books for Wiley.

Training Videos
Because of her expertise in contact management and CRRM software, Karen Fredricks was contacted in 2009 by lynda.com to create and record a training video on ACT! 2010. After the course was released online and in DVR format she was asked to create new titles on Outlook 2010.
