K Varghese

Varghese Kunjukunju was an Indian Chartered accountant, and philanthropist. He was the founder of K Varghese and Company, Chartered Accountants based in Kerala. More than a Chartered Accountant, he was well known in serving as the Lay-Trustee of Mar Thoma Syrian Church and was the elected Lay-Trustee who served the position Mar Thoma Syrian Church for 12 years.
Biography
K Varghese was born to Valiyavilayil Kunjukunju and Aliyamma Kunju Kunju in Elampal, a suburb of Kollam in the south Indian state of Kerala in 1943. His early schooling was at the Boys High School Punalur after which he graduated from Fatima Mata National College Kollam. He was interested in accounting and became a Chartered accountant Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1987. He started with a small office space and later the organization was actively involved in having audits with the large public sectors companies in India.
Association With Mar Thoma Syrian Church
He was the elected Lay-Trustee of Mar Thoma Syrian Church from 1997 to 2006 and again in 2009. He was the member of sabha council Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Episcopal Nomination Board, Clergy Selection Committee, Governing Board member of Mar Thoma College Tiruvalla, and Mar Thoma College of Science and Technology, Ayur
