Julie Zeilinger

Julie Zeilinger (born February 24, 1993) is a feminist blogger from Pepper Pike, Ohio. She is founder and editor of the feminist blog "The Fbomb". Julie is a high school student in Gates Mills, Ohio.
The Fbomb
The Fbomb is a blog/community created for teenage girls who care about their rights as women and want to be heard. The Fbomb stands for “feminist,” although the fact that “the f bomb” usually refers to a certain swear word in popular culture is not coincidental. Thefbomb.org is for girls who have enough social awareness to be angry and who want to verbalize that anger. Thefbomb.org is loud, proud, witty, sarcastic - everything teenage feminists are today.
Personal Life
Zeilinger has also guest-blogged on the National Council for Research on Women's Web site about leadership, as well as serving as an intern for the organization. She has also been involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Expect Respect (a play and discussion group spreading awareness of dating violence), and Scenarios USA (an organization dedicated to making films for and by teens about sexual health and reproductive justice).
Accomplishments
Julie has won numerous awards over the past 3 years. She was the winner of the Middle School English/Humanities Book Award 2006 and 2007. Zeilinger was also a Power of the Pen State Finalist in 2006 and 2007 where she won Best of Round Awards for three short stories. Other accomplishments include:
• Third Place in School's Prose Contest 2008 and Honorable Mention in School's Prose Contest 2009
• Semi-Finalist in the National Contest for Scenerios USA “What’s The Real Deal: Masculinity.”
