Julian Storer is a UK software developer and founder working in the audio industry. He's best-known for creating the Tracktion digital audio workstation in 2002, and the C++ library JUCE in 2004, a framework for audio applications and plugins. Education Storer graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science and psychology from University of St Andrews in 1993. Work Julian Storer is the original creator of the Tracktion software, in 2002. Tracktion was sold to Mackie in 2003, but has been sold back in 2013 to original developer Julian Storer and two other former Mackie employees, James Woodburn and Dave Christenson, who've formed Tracktion Software Corporation. The underlying C++ code that was developed to create Tracktion's graphic and audio capabilities was split-out in 2004 into an open-source library, JUCE. Music Hardware Maker ROLI Acquires JUCE in 2014. Julian Storer joined the ROLI team as Head of Software Architecture. In April 2020 it was announced that JUCE had been sold by ROLI to the audio technology company PACE Anti-Piracy Inc. Awards and honors Storer was awarded the "Most Inspiring" Session at the C++ NOW Conference in 2013, for his session "The Projuicer: Live Coding with C++ and the LLVM JIT Engine"
