Judytwoshoes was a four-piece Pop/Pop Punk-ish band with a female lead singer, that existed from 1977 to 1981. The name Judytwoshoes derives from ´Goody Two-Shoes´. . Goody Two-Shoes is a children's story by an anomymous author, published in 1765. The story is the origin of the popular phrase "goody two-shoes," often used to describe an excessively or annoyingly virtuous person. In more recent years, the phrase has developed a more negative connotation, implying that the virtuousness of a "goody two-shoes" is insincere. Some of the songs were modelled on the contemporary Blondie. The band was formed by lead guitarist Lucas Weschke and singer Judie Burton. The two were language students at the then Bristol Polytechnic (renamed ) in 1992. At that time the , in the early days of ´punk´ was very lively - included Electric Guitars, Art Objects, Various Artists, Stingrays, Shoes For Industry, Exploding Seagulls, Untouchables, Jo Public, X-Certs, Spics, Gardez Darkx Colortape, The Pop Group and Essential Bop. The line-up of the band in its most active period was Judie Burton (Vocals), Lucas Weschke (Guitar), Bill Jackson (Bass) and Shaun Sheppard (Drums). Judytwoshoes played at a large number of venues in and around Bristol, including the well-known Ashton Court Festival in 1979, to an audience of around two thousand people.
