Jonnie West

Jonathan Joseph 'Jonnie' West (born May 18, 1988 in Santa Monica, California) is a basketball player for the West Virginia Mountaineers. Jonnie is the son of Basketball Hall of Famer Jerry West.
Early life
Jonnie, the youngest son of Jerry and Karen West, averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game as a senior at Lausanne Collegiate School. Jonnie was named all-state in Division II by the Tennessee Sports Writer Association. Jonnie was selected as one of the top 20 seniors to play in the Memphis all-star classic. He also had five 30-point performances as a senior. Jonnie shot 86 percent from the free throw line and made 62 3-point shots and had 59 blocks as a senior. He averaged 18.8 points as a junior, along with 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists. Jonnie's career-high of 33 points and 12 rebounds came as a junior as well.
Collegiate career
Jonnie West redshirted the 2006-07 season, in which the Mountaineers won the 2007 National Invitation Tournament.
West was expected to get more playing time in the 2007-08 campaign, along with guards Darris Nichols and Da'Sean Butler, and forward Joe Alexander, with the loss of senior center Rob Summers and senior forward Frank Young. West saw considerable time in the University of Maryland Eastern Shore victory, scoring 6 points and grabbing two rebounds.
Played in 23 games as a redshirt freshman in 2007-08 season, played in 11 games in 2008-09 season,
