Jon David

Jon David is a contemporary American artist. He lives and paints in Lone Oak, Texas. David graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas in 1993, and studied at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. He is married and has three Basset Hounds
David’s art typically addresses nature and animals. He has also worked closely with residents of senior care homes in Oregon and Scotland, which she says has led her to explore as an artist human relationships in the contemporary age.
David was selected by Southwest Art Magazine in 2008 as one of 21 emerging artists to watch. His work can be found in the public collections of the City of Lone Oak, Texas, the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center, the Southern Academy for Culture and the Arts, and the Mansion at Turtle Creek, Dallas. David is best known for his paintings, particularly of animal subjects, but he also earned a grant from the Southwest Region Arts & Culture Council for his 2008 conceptual gallery in Dallas. He is mentioned in Art in America magazine for his awards.
His work focuses on human and animals, family, and environment. He explores issues of fragility and strength in nature. In his 2008 artist's statement for an installation she wrote, "I am a conduit for the interpretation by man of nature. Inspiration is drawn from within and above to color the blank slate."
