Jon Braeley

Jon Braeley is an architect and photographer turned filmmaker. Born in 1959 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He now resides in Miami Beach, USA. His film studio, Empty Mind Films focuses on Asian culture and the Martial Arts. According to Black Belt Magazine, "The birth of Empty Mind Films should be regarded as nothing less than a boon. It gives us glimpses into the highest levels of the traditional arts as Jon Braeley's passion carries him ever deeper into the heart of Asia."
Early years
Jon Braeley spent the early part of his career as an architect and photographer in the North of England. In 1990 he moved to New York and worked as an architect and interior designer and worked for two years in the fashion industry with Oscar De la Renta and Jordache Jeans. In 1996 he moved to Miami and opened a photography and design studio in the emerging design district. His clients included The Miami Heat NBA team, Carnival Cruise line, Royal Caribbean Cruise line and the Port of Miami. In 1997 he teamed up with local Miami based artist Ish Ledesma to produced his first documentary. In 2003 Jon Braeley founded Empty Mind Films and released the studio's first documentary The Empty Mind (2003).
Empty Mind Films
Their documentary films include masters of Martial Arts, health and spirituality and the cultures of China, Japan, India and South-East Asia. Jon Braeley has contributed movie footage to many broadcast channels including National Geographic.
