Jojar S Dhinsa

Jojar Singh Dhinsa is a British businessman and investor. In 2002, he registered Athlone International Ltd and Athlone Business Services Ltd with Companies House in the UK, however both companies have been dissolved. Most recently Jojar Singh Dhinsa was director of ChatChit Ltdand Let's Chat Chit Ltd with both Companies being dissolved in March 2021. According to current (June 2021) Companies House records Jojar Singh Dhinsa is not listed as director of any registered UK Company.
Early life
The youngest of 6 children, Dhinsa was raised by Punjabi parents, Joginder and Gurmej Dhinsa who came to Britain from India in the 1960s. His first entrepreneurial foray came when he was six years old, earning £3 per week as a paperboy. Whilst still at school, he set about starting a business using scrap components that he found discarded, and selling them for a profit. By the time he was 16, he had made £500,000 without missing a day of school.
In September 1992, Dhinsa enrolled at the University of Birmingham, where he gained a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management, graduating in 1995.
Career
Whilst still at university, Dhinsa founded JK Trading, a dye importing business that imported dyes from India for the textile trade in the UK. In 1995, aged just 20, Dhinsa sold JK Trading to an Indian consortium for around £45 million.
In 2004, Dhinsa gained media publicity in the UK after being linked with a takeover of Coventry City football club. However, no agreement was reached with the club and it was reported at the time that Coventry City FC did not believe he had the funds at all for a takeover. In fact most fans felt it was little more than a publicity campaign by Dhinsa to increase his public profile, often saying "put up or shut up". Later that year, Dhinsa won the ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award at the 2004 Asian Business Awards.
In 2006, Dhinsa was included in a Discovery Channel programme about Europe's wealthiest entrepreneurs. Dhinsa was then nominated in the businessman category for the Sikh Awards which were held on 10 October 2010.
In 2018, Dhinsa was a vocal advocate of British entrepreneurs during Brexit negotiations, telling hundreds of guests at an industry event that British business would go from “strength to strength in the world of global business” post-Brexit.
Charity Work
In June 2006, Dhinsa was a sponsor of Mark Shand's Elephant Family charity at a fundraising ball.
