Johnny Polygon

Johnny Polygon is an American rapper and singer. In February of 2010 he released a cross genre album/mixtape titled Rebel Without Applause. His first single, "Riot Song," premiered on LA’s Power 106 radio station show, The TAKEOVER with the LA Leakers and DJ Reflex, on March 30, 2010. "Riot Song" is also featured in HBO’s series How to Make it in America.
Early life
Johnny Polygon was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but moved to Hollywood in 2004. After moving to Los Angeles, a music video for his song "Bag" caught the attention of DJ Green Lantern who signed him to his Future Green Entertainment label in early 2008.
Music career
With DJ Green Lantern, Polygon recorded "Price on Your Head" which appears on the Grand Theft Auto 4 soundtrack. In 2009, through Invasion Records, he released an EP called Group Hug and in December he opened for Kid Cudi at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. On Nas's song "Black President" he sang the chorus. On January 20, 2010 Johnny performed “Black President” with Nas at BET’s “Inaugural Ball”.
Johnny's Rebel Without Applause was released on February 14, 2010. From April 5 to 12 the album was featured on iTunes front page. Following the release of the album, a video for his single, “The Riot Song”, debuted on February 22. “Riot Song” is also featured on HBO's How To Make It In America mixtape hosted by Kid Cudi. CuDi states over the opening track that Johnny is "... the illest up and coming artists. We did a remix to this song so look for that soon." A remix of “The Riot Song” with Cudi appears on Rebel Without Applause..
On March 31, 2010 Johnny appeared on LA’s Power 106 radio station show, The TAKEOVER with the LA Leakers and DJ Reflex . During the show they premiered “Riot Song”, “That’s You” and a live freestyle by Johnny over a Black Eyed Peas' track "Imma Be".
Johnny Polygon has been featured in Vapors Magazine and YRB Magazine, while also making a cameo appearance in Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness” video.
Concert series
Johnny has also developed a concert series called Church. His first Church show was on April 1, 2010 in Hollywood, with an upcoming one on May 2 in Santa Monica. Hosted by comedian The Good Dr. Rev. Jerry Harvey, the show features Johnny as a headliner followed by co-headliners that are MTV favorites.
The Johnny Polygon Show
Johnny Polygon also stars in his own online tv show at Karmaloop.tv called, The Johnny Polygon Show. Currently filming his second season, The Johnny Polygon Show revolves around Johnny’s life working, his stories, and the people he works with. Returning on May 2, 2010, the first episode features a story about him and Nas.
