The Rev. John Y.H. Yieh joined Virginia Theological Seminary in 1995. He is currently Associate Professor of New Testament. Dr. Yieh completed his Ph.D. in Religious Studies (specializing in New Testament Studies) at Yale University. Prior to that he received the M.A. and the M. Phil. In Religious Studies from Yale University, the M.Div. from Taiwan Theological Seminary, the M.A. in English Literature from Fu-Zen Catholic University and the B. A. in Foreign Languages from Tunghai University. Before joining the faculty at VTS, Dr. Yie served on the faculties at Bangor Theological Seminary in Maine and Andover Newton Theological School in Boston. Dr. Yieh has served on the steering committees for the Bible in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean group and the Asian and Asian-American Biblical Hermeneutics’ group in the Society of Biblical Literature. He has also serve as President of the Mid-Atlantic Region of the SBL. Dr. Yieh is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He is from Taiwan originally. He is married to Su Yieh and has one daughter, Janet.
