John Bedini

John Bedini of the Bedini Electronics company is an electrical engineer. He created B.A.S.E., an audio signal processor; and he has filed patents for a number of audio technologies. Additionally, on his personal Web site, Bedini has self-published a number of articles related to experimental methods for generating and transmitting electrical energy, among them a 'Bedini motor' that is claimed to use 'free energy' to run.
Theoretical inventions
Bedini is one of many engineers who claim to have designed or co-designed machines that do not adhere to conservation of energy. Such inventions are generally considered perpetual motion machines. Bedini was granted several patents for such devices.

Bedini Audio Spacial Environment
The Bedini Audio Spacial Environment or Bedini Audio Spectral Enhancer (B.A.S.E. or BASE) is an audio signal processor invented by Bedini. According to Bedini's company's marketing literature, B.A.S.E.-enhanced stereo sound is played through a pair of loudspeakers, its principal effect is to fool the ear into perceiving only the right-channel sound in the right ear, and the left-channel sound in the left ear, even though both ears are receiving sound from both channels.
Seemingly contradicting this claim, the following information was provided by John Bedini in his comments about the streaming audio station he created on December 30, 2004:
:The B.A.S.E. processor analyzes and separates a stereo signal into a stereo and mono path. The mono information can be moved forward, backward, side to side or anywhere within 360 degrees without loss of stereo ambient space. The stereo space can be increased or decreased while the mono signal is set anywhere desired. The results is an enhanced signal that goes beyond stereo, while enabling the user to be in complete control of all spacial aspects. When B.A.S.E. is applied in the mixing or mastering process the effect can be quite amazing, it is the only process that can create a Holographic Audio Image in open air. Processing of any live stream of music can be encoded with B.A.S.E. on both the outermost left/right channels, as well as the stereo-surround channels, to create a seamless, 360-degree spacial environment.
No reliable, independent verification of any of these claims has been made. In 1985, TVI Systems, Ltd. (Los Angeles, CA) was granted for a "monaural to binaural audio processor," as invented by John Bedini. The patent says the invention could be used in parallel to process multiple audio sources such as the left and right channels of stereo output, and the resulting pair of stereo signals could then be mixed.
Compact disc clarifier
Bedini's electronics company markets a compact disc "clarifier" which is purported to improve the audio and video quality of CDs and DVDs by spinning the discs whilst "bathing them with electromagnetic beams" prior to being played. These claims have been criticised by popular skeptic James Randi.
Since audio discs are read-only media which store sound information in a digital form (unlike analog recordings), and the device itself doesn't reproduce sound, the device's treatment cannot have any affect on the data the CD contains.
Battery chargers/rejuvenators
In 2007, Bedini's Energenx company began distributing a line of battery charger/"rejuvenator" products, which he claims do two things: 1. charge batteries using much less energy than traditional chargers, and 2. restore sulfated batteries to near-new condition.
In November 2008, he began more heavily promoting these devices, claiming they have performed well.
As of May 2010, Renaissance Charge LLC (Energenx sales arm) is still in the business of selling radiant battery chargers. The company has added 5 additional chargers to their product line including an electric vehicle charger.
