John allevato

John Allevato is a former college football player for West Virginia from 2005-2008 . He is mostly known as a West Virginia football fan favorite and a legendary backyard football player. He was born on June 24, 1986 and grew up in Charleston, where he attended George Washington High School, former high school of Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner.
Childhood and High School Career
John was born in Pickerington, Ohio and moved to Charleston during middle school. In youth sports leagues, he began to become a player of note across many sports. In high school, John was the quarterback and utility man for the Class AAA George Washington High School Patriots. He earned many accolades from his peers in his community and across the state, including George Washington High School Homecoming King and WV High School Class AAA All State Quarterback Honorable Mention.
College Career
John attended West Virginia University in Morgantown. Miraculously, he walked on to the football team as a wide receiver, despite the teams reputation for not retaining in-state players. He did not see much playing time , but gained a reputation for motivating performances in practices and the annual Blue and Gold Spring Scrimmage. He grew as a home-state fan favorite up until a career-ending knee injury suffered during an off-season sand volleyball game. Despite his disappointing end, he will continue to be known as a of West Virginia.
Personality
Throughout his career, John was known as the model student-athlete, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average in high school and making the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in college. He was very involved in the local communities of Morgantown and Charleston by assuming leadership roles in Young Life. Also noteworthy is John's reputation as a legendary backyard football player. This reputation gave momentum to his home-state hero persona among the community.
Life After Football
Mr. Allevato is currently an Associate Director for Young Life, an interdenominational Christian outreach to teenagers, in the Mt. Lebanon area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is engaged to be married to childhood sweetheart Shawna Tyree.
