JoAnne H. Favors

State Representative JoAnne Humphries Favors is a native of Chattanooga, TN. She is a graduate of the historic Howard High School of 1960 and has a Masters Degree in Adult Health and Administration.
She is the first African American female to be elected to the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners and served two terms in that position.
Representative Favors is a former Associate Professor at Chattanooga State Community College and taught nursing for ten years in that capacity.
She retired a few years ago as Executive Director of the Southside and Dodson Avenue Community Health Centers to run for State Representative of District 29 and is presently serving in that capacity.

Representative Favors serves as a Director on the following Boards:

Community Services Agency
African American Chamber of Commerce
Women's’ Leadership Council
Organizer of the Southside Family Reunion Committee
In addition, Representative Favors has received many service and scholastic awards including Tennessee Nurse of the Year -District 4 and Tennessee Primary Care Association.
She is a frequent speaker at civic, professional and religious events.
