Jeremy Scott Owens (born December 9, 1976) is a Minor League Baseball player for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the independent Atlantic League. He went to Science Hill High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. He bats and throws right-handed and is 6'1" and weighs 200 pounds. Born in Johnson City, Tennessee, he was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 8th Round (232nd overall) of the amateur entry draft. By , Owens had made it to Triple-A with the Padres, but became a free agent after the season. The Boston Red Sox signed him to a minor league contract and assigned him to Double-A for . In , Owens played for the Red Sox' Triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox. In , he played for the independent Atlantic League for their Somerset Patriots team. In 137 games, Owens batted .290 with 24 home runs and 77 RBI, the most successful pro baseball season of his career. In , Owens played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in Double-A. In , he was promoted to Triple-A and started in Triple-A before being released on May 21, 2008. On June 3, he signed with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League. On March 4, , he re-signed with the Blue Crabs.
