Jeremiah Palecek

Jeremiah Palecek (1978) is a blogger, painter and sound artist. He grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota. He attended the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, The Glasgow School of Art and received his BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He performs his blend of hip hop and noise under the pseudonym King Vitaman. He currently resides in Prague, Czech Republic.
Jeremiah's work as a painter is primarily known on the internet as his work tends to focus on painting the digital world. These paintings include but are not limited to paintings of video games, television shows, and film. His work is propelled by the geek community and much of his success can be attributed to large online blogs such as Boingboing.net, and Destructiod.com who have featured his work. While much of his work inhabits the digital realm Jeremiah has also worked with Curators ranging from Mark Divo to Michael Rade. During one exhibition at the Proces Prague Festival he installed a room which resembled a teenage boy's where one could sit on a bed, play guitar, and video games. He has collaborated with Travis Jeppesen to produce the book Poems I Wrote While Watching TV for BLATT Books. Lately Palecek has received attention for his work investigating viral youtube videos and other internet memes and appeared on Canal Television's L'Edition Speciale as well as in various print magazines throughout the world.
Jeremiah has maintained a Painting Blog since May 2005 where he frequently posts his new works. Through his painting blog and a huge amount of inbound links on the internet Jeremiah became very successful selling works directly through his blog. Thus bypassing traditional ways of marketing and selling artwork.
