Predicted the crisis, how it initiated and the magnitude
The thesis concluded that housing price bubbles had historically been created by deregulation and financial liberalization.
Jens predicted the burst of the bubble to be initiated by contractive monetary policy (higher interest rates) and that a credit contraction would lead to a credit crisis through a reinforcing process. The thesis also concluded that due to the size of the credit expansion, the credit crisis would lead to a financial crisis.
Further on, Jens predicted that there was risk of a global recession, since the housing bubble was internationally synchronized.
