Jennifer Lynn Canty (b. June 26, 1971 in Orange, California) is an internet entrepreneur who founded and launched the eCommerce company Dyscern. Canty was raised in Jackson, Michigan where she graduated from Vandercook Lake High School in 1989. She went on to graduate Michigan State University in 1993 and received her MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2000, where she was president of her class. Canty founded Dyscern, an eCommerce company specializing in consumer electronics, after the birth of her first child. Canty has been profiled by news organization such as The Washington Post, MSNBC, NBC News and the CBS Evening News, in her capacity as the founder of Dyscern and as an expert in eCommerce and reverse logistics Dyscern was acquired in 2009 by Liquidity Services Inc (NASDAQ: LQDT), which hired Canty to focus on business development. Dyscern was one of three eBay PowerSellers to be acquired by a public company. Canty resides in Great Falls, Virginia with her husband and three children.
