Jeff Bible (born April 8, 1964), aka “Jus’ Jeff” Bible, "The Singing Piano Playing Guy" , is an American musician and former T.V. shopping host. In the mid 1990s, Bible was an energetic and charismatic pitchman on late night television, selling a wide variety of products on national T.V. for VCC (Video Catalog Channel), Via T.V., Shop At home and several other networks based out of Knoxville Tennessee. Bible is also noted for being a commercial writer and T.V. personality on a regional and national level. Biography Jeffrey Lynn Bible was born in Knoxville Tennessee to William D. Bible and Opal Harris-Bible (both deceased) and has six siblings. Sister, Brenda Sue “Susie” Bible, now deceased, was a breeder of Schipperke dogs and won multiple awards from the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Bible briefly attended East Tennessee University majoring in broadcasting and Roane State Community College where he majored in drafting and design. Bible is a cousin to one time writer and star of Hee Haw, Archie Campbell. Bible has worked with Archie's son Phil Campbell, former host of Club Dance, Hee Haw and I-40 Paradise, in the T.V. shopping industry and in the music industry. Bible is divorced, without children and currently resides in Largo, Florida with his dog “Katie” . T.V. Career While Bible was working as a telemarketer in Knoxville, a co-worker, commenting on Bible’s “DJ like” voice, suggested he audition for Video Catalog Channel, a local TV channel that sold a wide variety of products on satellite television. Kent Blackwelder, VCC’s General Manager and later contestant of NBC’s Big Brother, provided Bible with an open audition co-hosting with Nikki Rouleau , now host with Jewelry Television. Bible, under the impression he would audition “off air” was surprised to learn his audition was indeed “live” and was broadcast nationwide while selling McDonalds happy meal toys and early Mattel toys. A few days after the audition, Jeff was offered a hosting position with VCC and later shared the spot light with Robert Chambers, former host of the coin and sports memorabilia show at Shop At Home along with Don West (TNA wrestling commentator). Later into 1993, Bible, auditioned for newcomer “Via T.V.”. Via T.V. was more closely matched to QVC and HSN’s “Hollywood” appearance and format. Owner operator Keith Halford, sold his stock in QVC and started up Via T.V. in Knoxville Tennessee. Halford brought along with him former popular QVC hosts' Steve Coluntuno and Paul Kelley to jump start the new network. Lisa Robertson , former Miss Tennessee and now host for QVC, got her start at Via T.V. as did Shawn Leflar of ShopNBC. After a year “on air” with Via T.V., Bible found a new home with Shop At Home. After just a few short months of hosting, Bible left Shop At Home, because he did not want to make the move to Nashville, where the network decided to move to. Bible was recruited to be host for “Rarities Exchange”, a little known network that specialized in antiques and high end collectibles. Rarities Exchange was where Bible found his personal notoriety, by being the first T.V. host to broadcast in Europe via streaming video while simulcasting on satellite and network T.V. After Rarities Exchange’s owners had a fallen out and closed the doors, Bible fronted several local bands and wrote T.V. and radio commercials to support himself. In 1999 Bible was recruited by “The Hoppin’ Mad Hillbilly”, Chris Kirk, to sell knives and swords for Kirk’s satellite network based in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Kirk, is best known for being the loud and boisterous “redneck knife host” of VCC, Shop At Home and Jewelry Television (formerly known as “The Gemstone Network”). Bible, after many years of selling everything from porcelain dolls to beanie babies to “as seen on T.V" products, decided to move on and retire from television. Bible can be found, singing and playing his keyboard, as a solo entertainer in and around the Tampa Bay area of Florida.
