Jay salter

Jay Lee Salter, OAM (born 14 August 1975) is an Australian former tennis player. He was born in Melbourne and went to school in Melbourne at Cleeland High School and Wesley College and then turned professional in 1992. He is best known for his junior tennis results representing Victoria and Australia in under 14s, 16s and 18s, reaching a singles 1/4 final in the 1991 Australian Open and winning doubles titles with Mark Philippoussis throughout Asia. Representing Victoria he won each National team championship in every age group and was ranked number 1 or 2 in Australia between the ages of 11 to 18. Although he retired from tennis at the age of 20, he reached an ATP ranking of 608 in singles and 535 in doubles and had defeated players, such as Thomas Johannson and Tommy Hass<www.jaysalter.com.au>. He is among the most successful players in Melbourne Australia, having won numerous open tournaments throughout Victoria and was named State Grade Pennant player of the year in 2009<www.tennisaustralia.com.au>. At the completion of his playing career, Jay then completed year 12 and then a Bachelor of Science and VUT and later Deakin University majoring in Psychology and Biological/Computer Science.
