Donald Marriott

Donald Marriott is an American male tennis player and Cancer survior. Born in 1973 at the New Jersey Shore to William and Jane Marriott. A cancer survivor who became a top ranked junior in New Jersey by the age of 11 while still undergoing treatment for Lukemia. He was diagnosed at the age of 9 and was treated at Memorial Hospital in New York City for over 7 yrs. Marriott would become the number one ranked Prep B high school tennis player in New Jersey while playing for The Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey. He would according to the Hopewell Valley News May 1991 leave a "Legacy of tennis excellence". Marriott would set three school records at 1838 established school. The school records included most wins in a season with 25 and most wins all time which according the the Hopwell Valley News May 1991 exceeds 60 while playing number one singles all four years.
According to Sports Carolina Magazine, March 09 Marriott earned a tennis scholarship to High Point University in High Point, NC. Where he would excel on and off the court earning academic awards and Carolina All-Conference awards and earning wins over major schools like Wake Forest. Marriott has been linked to former top ranked players such as Roscoe Tanner, Tim Wilkison, TJ Middleton, Justin Gimblestob, Mike Sell, Marat Safin, and many others. He has played with or against over a dozen top 10 world ranked players and earned wins over many over the last decade. Wins over Tim Wikinson and Roscoe Tanner and former ATP doubles specialist Bret Garnett.
