Edward Albert Shaben (December 7, 1931 - April 7, 2007) was a Canadian Muslim businessman of Lebanese descent. Edward Shaben is the brother of Larry Shaben, the first Arab and the first Muslim MLA elected in Alberta and the first Muslim Cabinet Minister in Canada. In his late teens Shaben joined his family's Edmonton, Alberta based general merchandise wholesale company, Shaben and Hamdon. He took the company over from his father and formed Shaben and Hamdon in 1949. In 1980 he became the sole owner and the company was reincarnated as Shaben International, which became Canada's leading toy wholesaler. In 1998, Mr. Shaben was inducted into the Canadian Toy Hall of Fame. []
