Leo Scoda is the current mayor of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Biography Leo J. Scoda was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Pittston High School in 1959. Mr. Scoda then attended Penn State University, graduating in 1963 with a teaching degree in science. For the next 35 years, Mr. Scoda taught biology at Phoenixville Area High School, and continues to serve as the boys’ tennis team head coach. It was during this time the boys’ tennis team won 11 Chest-Mont tennis championships, 22 consecutive PAC 10 tennis championships, and the establishment of a winning streak of 196-0 in PAC 10 play. In 2001, Mr. Scoda was named National High School Tennis Coach of the Year, and was inducted into the Middle States Tennis Association Hall of Fame. In 1998, Mr. Scoda was elected to his first term as mayor of Phoenixville, and continues in that position today. On May 5, 2009 Leo Scoda was inducted into the Pheonixville Area Hall of Fame by the Phoenixville Area Camber of Commerce.
