Jay Kalansooriya (born 17 April, 1998) is a journalist, based in Sri Lanka. Although he started his career as a sociopolitical blogger in 2012, he is best known for his work as a journalist and a columnist in business and economy areas. He also freelances as a content strategist and a marketing consultant, for local as well as international clients. Jay received recognition in 2018, as the 9th most influential columnist in the country, due to his widely recognized weekly column, "The Marketer", on Daily FT. although he failed his GCE Advanced Level examinations in 2017, and was denied privileged access into state universities. Career Kalansooriya started his writing and journalism career in 2012 (13 years old) as a sociopolitical blogger, thanks to his then mentor Ajith Jayasinghe, who is also an award-winning senior journalist, and a member of in Sri Lanka. |
