Jay Matthew Fenster (born January 8, 1977; Rahway, New Jersey) is an American travel writer, blogger, social media practitioner and casino industry expert. He has covered Walt Disney World and Orlando for Open Road Publishing from 1994 to 2006 and covered Las Vegas for Open Road from 2006 to 2008. Biography First published at age 17, Fenster became the youngest known travel writer to pen an adult-oriented guidebook. Fenster later graduated from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce in 1999. He currently resides in Las Vegas, where he works in the field of social media within the casino industry. He was profiled by VEGAS SEVEN magazine for his work in the field on June 16, 2010. On February 13, 2011, the Las Vegas Review-Journal named Fenster's Twitter account, @jayfenster, one of "10 must-follow Vegas Twitter feeds." Published works Fenster's most recent book is Open Road's Best of Las Vegas (ISBN 1593600836), co-authored by gambling guru Avery Cardoza and first published in December 2006. This book provides itineraries of varying lengths for travelers seeking specific types of vacation experiences, such as a couples' getaway, a family vacation or a vintage Vegas experience. The second edition (ISBN 1593601077) was released in June 2008. Fenster is a pioneer of the targeted "Best Of" travel writing format that closely aligns travel recommendations with the amount of time that people have to spend in a destination, and the exact outcome they want from a trip. This approach is compared to the typical encyclopedic "lists of lists" format that includes tons of information but no real guidance. Fenster is also the author of Walt Disney World Guide, Disney World and Orlando Theme Parks, and Disney World With Kids. He also maintained Open Road's now-defunct Best of Las Vegas Blog.
