Monica Howard was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, and she currently resides in Wisconsin. Her father is the late royal honorary of South Sudan, Dr. George Kinga, Advisor to President Salva Kiir on religion and family affairs. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University in Finance with a minor in Criminal Justice, and is heavily involved in the community in which she lives. Monica initially started her career doing local modeling gigs. Her first big break was when she was invited to compete in the 2003 Miss. America finals. However, due to a tragic accident, she was not able to compete. Later, she relocated to Milwaukee, WI where she was featured in several runway shows and the infamous Midwest Flavaz Magazine. This led to her being featured on MTV and BET for a commercial appearance with rap star Bodaiga. Later, she attended several tour shows with rap star and Grammy winning producer Rico Love. In 2006 she made the final three contestants for rap star Nelly’s clothing line, Apple Bottom. She continued to model and was invited by a close friend to compete for a modeling spot with G-Unit in NYC. She declined the invite to start a family. Most recently she co-stared in an independent film for So Grateful films, a division of Spike Lee’s independent production company, called ‘Shareholders’ where she plays the sultry publisher, Vivian. A year later, while finishing up her book Prince of Hearts, she had a small role as a school teacher in ‘The Club’ that sold out Madison’s Overture Center. After completing both movies she was signed to Tate Publishing and released the book ‘Prince of Hearts. The Secret Love Affair of Prince Charles.’ She is working on her second book concept and continues to write and do speaking engagements. lives.
