Javier Herrera (born October 8, 1981 in Hialeah, Florida) is an American baseball catcher. Herrera throws and bats right-handed. Career Herrera played college baseball at the University of Tennessee. Herrera was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in , and played Minor League Baseball for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Lake County Captains, Kinston Indians, and Akron Aeros in the Indians organization. He was a non-roster invitee to spring training with the Indians in . On June 9, 2007, he was traded to the Washington Nationals organization, and began the season with the Harrisburg Senators of the Double-A Eastern League before being called up to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.
