Jauhar Abraham

Jauhar Abraham is an American entrepreneur, politician, and co-founder and CEO of the non-profit organization Peaceoholics. On July 2, 2014, a Superior Court judge entered a default judgment of $638,989 against Peaceoholics and Abraham for improperly diverting District grant funds intended to support youth anti-violence services.
Career
In 2011, Abraham unsuccessfully ran in D.C. Council elections for the seat held by Marion Barry.
Abraham has been contracted by local political campaigns, including as a consultant for D.C. Councilmember Jack Evans and in July 2014 as a petition signature collector for Attorney General candidate .
On June 21, 2013, D.C. Attorney General Irvin B. Nathan filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia alleging that Peaceoholics and its co-founders improperly diverted District grant funds for personal use. Included was an allegation that Peaceoholics used grant funds to secure a loan for two high-end SUVs, then used more than $81,000 in District funds to pay off the loans, which Abraham titled “in his own name, and obtained insurance for himself as the primary driver.”
While Moten acknowledged discrepancies in their reporting of income, both Moten and Abraham dismissed any wrongdoing as politically motivated and “ridiculous.” On July 2, 2014, after Abraham failed to respond to the case in court, a Superior Court judge entered a default judgment of $638,989 against him and Peaceoholics. The ruling upheld the District’s claims that Peaceoholics and Abraham improperly diverted, for personal unauthorized uses, District grant funds, which were intended to support youth anti-violence services, and held them liable for the full amount of damages that the District sought.
