Jason Schenker

Jason Schenker is an American futurist, economist, entrepreneur, bestselling author, and angel investor. He has founded several companies, including Prestige Economics, Hedgefly, and the Futurist Institute. He has authored four books, including three bestsellers on Amazon. He is also a regular contributor to Bloomberg View and Bloomberg Prophets.
Background
In 1999, Schenker graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in History and German Literature. Schenker also holds a Masters of Germanic Languages and Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2001), a Master's of Applied Economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Masters in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding from California State University-Dominguez Hills.

Career
Economist
Schenker's professional career began as an economist at Wachovia, where his specialties were autos, industrials, metals, energy, commodities, and international economics. Thereafter, Schenker became a Risk Specialist and Senior Consultant for McKinsey and Company where he worked in the Houston and Frankfurt offices of McKinsey from 2007 to 2009. Subsequently, Schenker founded Prestige Economics. He has given many speeches, including at the Federal Reserve. He is the only currency forecaster in the world that predicted the Swiss National Bank would life its cap on the euro in January 2015.
Entrepreneur
Schenker founded Prestige Economics in 2009. Schenker is also a member of the Central Texas Angel Network. Schenker is a member of the Texas Business Leadership Council, the only CEO-based public policy research organization in the State of Texas, which is limited to 125 members.
Columnist
Schenker has been a columnist for Bloomberg View and Bloomberg Prophets since January 2017. He has written articles on the euro and the dollar, oil prices, oil and natural gas prices, equities, and the Fed.
Futurist
Schenker is the chairman of the Futurist Institute of America, which he founded to "helps analysts build the skills to see the longer term." In related activities, Schenker began working in the FinTech space in 2016, when he briefly was the CFO of an Austin FinTech company. He has given numerous speeches on FinTech He also founded Hedgefly.
Author
Schenker has written the books, Commodity Prices 101 (2012), Recession-Proof (2016), Electing Recession, Jobs for Robots (2017). The first three were all Amazon #1 Best Sellers.
