Jannik Olander is a Danish fashion designer and the founder of the Nialaya jewellery line and Gorilla T-shirt company. Gorilla Olander founded the T-shirt company Gorilla in 2004. The company has had success in Northern Europe. Gorilla have a reputation for producing controversial designs, and have been the subject of criticism in some countries. For instance, a shirt displaying an image of Pope John Paul II with the words "only the good die young" was "hated" by Italians and did not sell. The company has also reported that some of these jewellery pieces have spiritual and healing properties. In his design work with Nialaya, Olander was sued by Mads Kornerup and Mikkel Kornerup for copying designs from their company, Shamballa Shamballa claimed that Olander used their designs for a bracelet which had been on the market for six years. but also said that he was willing to remove the problematic bracelets from his stores.
