Janice Cruz Brooks

Janice Cruz Brooks (also known as Janice Cruz) is a Filipino American musician, model, vocal coach and audio engineer for both live and studio production. She is a ProTools editor and voice-over director for both music and dialogue, as well as being a composer for live action and animated television and has also created music and written top-line for various American, K-pop and J-pop artists. She is the songwriter, lead singer and guitar player for Brooklyn-based Indie Rock trio Dark Room and Indie Pop/Rock band Kill the Moonlight.
Additionally, Cruz Brooks is a Berklee College of Music trained vocal coach (Adam Lazzara from Taking Back Sunday, Chantal Claret from Morningwood, Justin Pierre from Motion City Soundtrack and Adrian Grenier (Entourage, The Devil Wears Prada)) for live performance and has been using her wide range of audio and musical skills for 15 years for the children’s animated programs “Dora the Explorer”, “” and “,” and most recently for the live broadcast show, “Saturday Night Live”.

Modeling
In 1986, Cruz Brooks was featured in The Starship's music video We Built This City, which received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1986 and also was ranked by Blender Magazine(now defunct) as the "worst record ever" made
Cruz Brooks was signed to now defunct Mitchell Management based in San Francisco from 1992-1997 where she worked in commercial print and runway (Macy's, Ulta, Old Navy. etc.). From 1998-2000 Cruz Brooks was signed to Click Boston in their commercial division. In 2001, thinking she was done with modeling, Cruz Brooks was stopped on the train and recruited by a fellow model to the Click Model Management Plus Division in New York City where she worked in TV commercials (Crystal Light), commercial print (Target, , Marie Claire, etc) and walked in several runway shows (Target, , Bloomingdale's, J.Lo by Jennifer Lopez, etc). She remained signed to Click from 2001-2013 (when they shut down the New York City Plus Division). She is now currently a freelance fit model for brands such as Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, Wacoal, Playtex, Champion, Bali, Maidenform, Just My Size, Barely There, Vanity Fair & Curvation.
