Jamie Loewen

Jamie Loewen (born September 23, 1968) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He was selected by the Minnesota North Stars as the 12th selection of the 1989 NHL Supplemental Draft. Loewen attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he played goal for the Alaska Nanooks men's ice hockey team. Loewen turned professional in 1992, playing in both the ECHL and the American Hockey Association, before settling in with the 1992-93 Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League (CHL). On April 14, 1993, as a rookie goaltender, Loewen was in the net for the Oilers' 8-6 win over the Oklahoma City Blazers to capture the 1993 William “Bill” Levins Memorial Cup as the Central Hockey League champions. Loewen remained with the Tulsa Oilers for the 1993-94 season, and played 30 games with the 1995-96 Alaska Gold Kings of the West Coast Hockey League, before hanging up his pads. |
