James Simmonds

James Simmonds (b. 3 December 1987 in Hammersmith, London [http://www.chelseafc.com/xxchelsea180706/index.html#/page/TheReservesProfiles]) is a footballer currently playing for Chelsea F.C. as a left-sided midfielder. He was signed as a full-time scholar in the summer of 2004.

Simmonds came through the youth academy at Chelsea and played several games for the reserves but failed to fully establish himself. He signed for Cardiff City F.C. on loan on 16 January 2007 until May 2007 but did not make a senior first team appearance for the club instead spending his loan playing in the teams reserves.

He was a former England youth international but has opted to play for the Republic of Ireland Under 19s .

Simmonds was on trial at QPR, and participated in the friendly between QPR and Harrow Borough FC.

On March 7 2008, Simmonds signed a one-month loan deal with Dover Athletic to link up with well-respected manager Andy Hessenthaler. He made his debut versus Molesey F.C. on March 8 2008 in a 2-0 win.
