Lee Butcher (born October 11th 1988) is an English Goalkeeper who currently plays for Leyton Orient. He previously played for Tottenham but failed to make an appearance for Spurs.
Personal
Lee was raised in Chingford where he trained for Arsenal at Hale End sports ground.
Career
Lee started his career at Norwich City as a schoolboy but since Roy Massey moved to Arsenal, Lee decided to follow him and join the Arsenal Academy. He played at the Cannes Football Festival in 2004 for Arsenal playing against teams such as A.F.C. Ajax and Real Madrid, in which he was voted goalkeeper of the tournament. He stayed at Arsenal's academy before crossing the North London divide to join Tottenham Hotspur, in which he turned professional in the move. He failed to break into the first team at White Hart Lane, and by this, he was sent on loan on numerous occasions. During his career, he has gone on loan to St Albans City, A.F.C. Wimbledon, Margate, and Grays Athletic, where he made his first competitive appearance of his career. He also spent a loan spell at his current club, Leyton Orient, as cover for Glenn Morris while Jamie Jones was injured.
In May 2010, Lee was released from Spurs and signed for Orient on a one-year deal.
