James John Taylor (born 30 November 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right-back for English club Bristol City FC.<ref name="James Bristol City" /> Career Taylor was introduced to his first taste of high level youth football when he joined Bristol City academy, playing in the under 18's. James made his debut in the FA Youth Cup on 11 December 2018, coming on as a substitute in a 2-1 home defeat to the hands of Crewe Alexandra. Just over a year later, Taylor made yet another FA Youth cup appearance, making the starting XI and playing the full 90 minutes. It however ended in defeat once again, this time against Preston North End, in a 2-0 away loss.<ref name"James Taylor all games" /> On 23 December 2019, James Taylor signed for Yate Town, along with three other Bristol City teammates.<ref name"James Taylor signs for Yate" /> He scored his first and only goal for Yate on 1 February 2020, in a match versus Hendon. Taylor netted in the 59th minute for Yate, however it wasn't enough to save them from a 2-1 away defeat.<ref name="James Taylor all games" /> In July 2020, Taylor signed professional terms with the Robins, penning a two-year contract, lasting until 30 June 2022. On 18 September 2020, James Taylor signed for Bath City on a season long loan alongside fellow Bristol City teammate Tommy Conway.<ref name"Taylor signs for Bath" /> He made his debut for the Romans on 5 December 2020, which was also his National League South debut too. This ended in a 2-1 victory away to Dorking Wanderers, in which Taylor played the full 90 minutes. Taylor played 6 more games for Bath in his loan spell, including making his FA Trophy debut. On his FA trophy debut, he played the full 90 minutes in a 3-2 home victory versus league rivals Chelmsford City. He then starred for the full 90 minutes in the following round, aiding the Romans to yet another victory. This time out it was a thumping 4-0 victory against Swindon Supermarine, again at home. Whilst on loan at Bath City, James played against sides such as Concord Rangers, Chippenham and Hungerford Town, before the season was cut short due to the COVID pandemic.<ref name"James Taylor all games" />
