James Bacon (political aide)

James Bacon is a college student and political aide who currently serves as the Director of Operations of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. He was appointed by John McEntee. In his role, Bacon directs the office's vetting of PAS positions, as well as the vetting of "thousands of lower-level appointees". Bacon's appointment came as part of a broader purge of White House staff, spearheaded by McEntee, who are suspected of disloyalty to President Donald Trump.
Prior to his White House appointment, Bacon interned with the Trump Campaign and served on the post-election transition team.
Bacon's grandmother claims that he worked as an intern for Democratic U.S. Representative Brad Sherman, though this employment was not mentioned on Bacon's White House disclosure report. The same disclosure report indicated that Bacon had previously worked as a paralegal at a Falls Church, Virginia law firm, and as a basketball trainer, though his grandmother has disputed those claims.<ref name"auto"/><ref name"auto2"/> The law firm whose name was mentioned on Bacon's disclosure report does not exist.<ref name="auto2"/>
Bacon is a senior at The George Washington University, where he is pursuing a bachelor's degree.<ref name"auto2"/> Bacon was raised in Los Angeles, California, where he attended Granada Hills Charter High School and played on the school's baseball team.<ref name"auto2"/>
