J.D. Masterson (born June 14, 1965) is an author, psychologist, and anti-vaccine activist. In January 2011, her first novel was released. The Scorpion's Sting: A Magdalena LaSige Novel is a fictional novel portraying a vast conspiracy among the pharmaceutical industry and religious and governmental institutions. Early life Masterson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She finished school rather early, graduating from high school at the age of 15, completing her Bachelor's degree in 3 years and her in 2.5 years. She also finished her Ph.D. at the age of 24, which was awarded to her in May 1990. She has lived in various states in the US, has traveled across Africa and Europe and currently resides in Newport, Vermont. Masterson is a Ph.D. hematology/oncology child psychologist. but after increased interference and control of managed care versus patient care, she left that line of work. She became a financial adviser for a reputable firm before selling that practice and moving to Vermont to become a vice president of a leading Northeastern bank. She was prompted to start the Magdalena LaSige series after experiencing firsthand the exorbitant corporate greed in pharmaceutical, medical and financial investment and banking organizations and reaching the proverbial glass ceiling in the finance institutions. and an New York Book Festival Award in June 2011. Masterson was also featured "Hot New Author" at BookExpo America 2011, signing 130 books in just 60 minutes.
