Itlizard

Itlizard is a website covering Information Technology related topics, which includes but not limited to programming, telecommunications network, hardware and multimedia. the site has various sessions with continuous improvements.
Although some languages tend to use the word "itlizard" for meaningful things, this isn't always true. Itlizard is used as a domain name in the internet and stands for "IT Lizard". The reason behind choosing "lizard" is that lizards are well known desert animals which can give an impression that the site is written (you guessed it) in Arabic and directed to Arabic readers.

History
This site was initially named "CGRex.com" and was intended for CG (Computer Graphic) related topics. But later on the owner of CGRex.com changed his mind and changed site's field from CG (Computer Graphic) field to general IT discussions. He tried to rename the domain name to "ITRex.com", but the domain was already registered by someone else, so he went for "ITLizard.com". There were merely three reasons behind this:

* The webmaster was already saturated from CG field (spending weeks on tiny details that may not be recognized by people, and worst is little to no income, doesn't sound promising).
* The webmaster wanted to be more generic to avoid getting bored from other topics. Although he loves programming and networking, but might get bored and hence variants needed.
* The site was new and no much visitors or CG related topics, so better to switch early rather than postponing it when more users join and number of articles increase..

Awards
ITLizard.com's base design structure won the 1st place prize in MOSAIC 2005 website design competition which was held between two colleges. After improving the base design and expanding it with more features and sections, CGRex came, and few months later the site changed to ITLizard.com which also included additional sections as it appears now.

* Other projects are planned as well but are considered as top secrets and are beyond the scope of this page at the moment. However, we will wait and see the right time to expose them.
