Itamar Rashkovsky

Born in London in 1995, Itamar Rashkovsky began playing the violin at the age of 7. Accepted to the Royal College of Music Junior Department at age 10, he continues studying the violin with Natalya Boyarskaya and is a Tsukanov Scholar. Itamar has performed in England, Russia, Israel, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and the USA. This includes performances in many prestigious venues such as the Carnegie Hall, Cadogan Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and the Israeli Opera House. Rashkovsky has also recorded for BBC Radio including the programme The Scalpel and the Bow which explored how interactive, simulated performance environments are now being used to train musicians and surgeons to perform under pressure.
He has won many prizes including the 1st prize at the John Evans String Prize at King's College School, prizes as a finalist of the Marjorie Humby Memorial Competition at the Royal College of Music (2010, 2011) and 1st prize at the Gordon Turner Memorial Competition-Royal College of Music (2012). In 2012 he also won the Peter Morrison Concerto Competition at the Royal College of Music Junior Department which led him to perform at the RCM Concert Hall. Rashkovsky also won 4th prize in the second age group of the Kloster Schoental International Violin Competition in 2013. The historic Freake cup was awarded for the most outstanding achievement in any field to Itamar Rashkovsky, recognising his success as winner of the solo performer's award at the Royal College of Music. Popular talk show host Vanessa Feltz presented the awards as King's hosted an exceptional prize giving ceremony at Cadogan Hall.
