Istvan Bokros (b. Budapest 1923- d. Sopron 1987) was a Hungarian architect who worked in the modern and early post modernist styles. Life He studied at the "Budapest Academy of Applied Arts" and started practice in the late 1940s. He was very active during the post-war era when many housing developments were built around Budapest. In the 1980s he received some important commissions (such as the Duna Plaza Hotel on Belgrad Street) and several office buildings. His work is often considered to be reminiscent of Hundertwasser. He, in turn, influenced later architects like Imre Makovecz.
