Ahmad M. Adileh

Ahmad M. Adileh was born in Silwan, Jerusalem in 1929. He was enrolled in the Arab Army in Jordan from 1949 to 1965.
Adileh founded the Silwan Club in 1965, which became one of the major Palestinian sport clubs, and stayed as head of the club until 1977. He was considered as one of the main partners in promoting the Palestinian sports after the 1967 war, setting the overall system to follow up and meet youths needs.
In 1969, he established the United Arab Club, which he was forced to shut down in 1971 by the Israeli military government. In 1975, he and his colleagues started the United Sport Federation which covered all Palestinian clubs. Adileh worked as sport page editor at Alquds newspaper for three years. He'd taken a major role in daily sports and social activities in the Palestinian community. He died on May 7, 1997.
