The Iron Ore Rally is a gathering of motorcyclist and people with similar interests which takes place annually in the small market town of Egremont in West Cumbria in the north of England. This event first took place in 1995 when members of the locally based motorcycle club West Coast MCC (Cumbria) decided to hold an event purely for them selves. This has since grown to around three hundred people travelling from all over the British Isles to enjoy both the weekends’ events and experience the wonderful scenery of the West Cumbrian coast. The event charges a small entrance fee which covers the weekend entertainments with the remainder going to local charities. The Air Ambulance and Meningitis research to mention a couple. The event takes its name from within the history of town, Egremont which sees the home of one of the last Iron Ore mines “Florence”
