Definition
Inventive Thinking Support Systems (ITSS) are a specific class of computerized information systems that supports business and organizational inventive thinking activities. A properly-designed ITSS is an interactive software-based system intended to help problem solvers compile a problem and the world of problem and to invent possible or even useful solutions.
Typical information that a decision support application might gather and present would be:
*description of a problem.
*an inventory of all of information and materials in the world of problem.
*possible solutions: ideas, implementation options, solution attributes, prioritization between solutions.
History
In the absence of an all-inclusive definition, first Inventive Thinking Support Systems appeared as systems that implement principles of TRIZ.
