Intervasion

Intervasion is the intervention of one political entity's military into another's geographic territory with the objective of controlling the invaded territory. The intervasion can be at the invitation of a non-ruling political party of the guest geopolitical or receiving entity.

This Australian word has been used variously to talk about the Gulf War, Australia's benevolent intervention in the Solomon Islands (although a police not military form of assistance), and the presence of the Australian military in East Timor - for the bringing about of democracy.
