InternMatch.com provides internship services for students, employers and educators. The site offers free internship searching, an intern blog, and a library of internship and job-search resources designed for both students and employers. InternMatch’s mission is to "Help students find and explore great internships with a focus on leading technology companies and non-profits.”
History
InternMatch was founded in 2009 by Andrew Maguire, Nathan Parcells and Kyle Wilkinson while in Seattle. The company moved its headquarters to San Francisco Bay Area in October 2010. In February 2011 they raised $400,000 in funding as part of Dave McClure’s 500 Startups venture fund. and in March 2011, they Partnered with StepOne helping to expand their international footprint . In September 2011, they launched community page functionality which “gives students an in-depth look into a company’s culture and employees,”, expanded their database to include nationwide listings and announced a second round of funding.
Financing
InternMatch has raised roughly $1,000,000 over two funding rounds with significant contributions from Mitch Kapor, StockTwits founder Howard Lindzon, Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph; Mafia Wars Founder Roger Dickey; TeachStreet founder Dave Schappell and others.
Clients
According to their site, as of December 2011, their current client roster includes Wikimedia, Sequoia Capital, Pixar, AOL, Yelp, Kiva, Purina, Zulily and others.
